Meet our Pastors
We have two full-time pastors at North Harford Baptist Church: Senior Pastor, John Manry, and Youth/Young Adult Pastor, Robert Kaczmarek.
My name is John Manry and I serve as Pastor of North Harford Baptist Church. I grew up in Howard County, Maryland, graduating from Glenelg High School in 1976. In 1985, I graduated from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary in Memphis, Tennessee and came to North Harford Baptist Church in January of 1986 as Associate Pastor. I served for three and a half years with Pastor Allen Jack Beck and, after his retirement, was called as Senior Pastor in November of 1989.
My wife and I live in a parsonage a half mile from the church where we have raised five children. My passion in ministry is to glorify Christ by preaching the Bible clearly, helping individuals, families, and this community know the Lord and His will for their lives. I invite you to join us this Sunday.
John Manry, Senior Pastor
Three things my wife Bethany and I are truly passionate about are the Word of God, living a life worthy of the gospel of Christ, and engaging the lost in honest conversation. For 15 years, I’ve served in full-time ministry—6 years on the international mission field and over 7 years here at North Harford in the role of associate. Bethany and I love to lead and serve a body who believes in doing life together—families, students, children—a people aware of their role in the Church worldwide with a heart for their local community. I love to vision cast with our youth and young adults and invest in individual members—mentoring, discipling, challenging them to step up and be a part of what God is doing around them.
When I preach it is mostly expository. I believe the infallible, inerrant Word of God reverberates in the soul of man when it is preached, and it causes change. I believe the Word is God-inspired and all sufficient for life and godliness. As I have continued my education, I have added many counseling classes to my M.Div. I believe a pastor can learn the needs of the people by counseling and intentionally developing relationships with God’s people. I am determined to apply the Truth to all of life—with practical insight from the Scriptures. Now, more than ever, modeling a grounded counter-cultural life is crucial. The shared experiences of my wife and me on the mission field have instilled in us a passion to encourage our church family on mission—wherever we are.
The Kaczmareks live in the parsonage next to the church with their five children: Caleb, Kate, Aidan, Seth, and Greta.
