Women's Ministries

We offer several areas of ministries for women at North Harford. From sewing clothes and toys for children in Haiti via the Tabitha Project to in-depth bible studies for women, moms, and older women. We've got a niche for you!

"To the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of mine, even the the least of them, you did it to Me." Matthew 25:40

The Tabitha Project was birthed when God burdened Peggy Kelly with the physical and spiritual needs of pre-school children in Haiti, who live in desperate poverty. Providing new, sturdy, serviceable clothing gives the children a better chance of surviving and growing past their childhood, hopefully to one day accept the Gospel of Christ. When we meet this physical need, we open the doors for evangelism and fulfill the command of Romans 12:10 - "Be devoted to one another in brotherly love; give preference to one another in honor."

Ladies from North Harford and other churches unite in the Tabitha Project to sew clothing for Haitian children. Donated materials are washed, pressed, cut, and sewn into infant rompers, girls' dresses, and boys' shorts. Appropriate undergarments are donated or purchased to accompany each garment, along with a small toy to bring the child an extra smile. All items are new; they are not merely donations, but gifts for children we value and honor as Christ did (Matthew 19:14).

Ladies interested in involvement in any aspect of this ministry may talk to Viola Thomas or Remona Fletcher. Besides volunteers, monetary donations are greatly needed to purchase underclothing and to pay shipping costs. Donations may be made by writing "Tabitha Project" on your offering envelope.
