Our desire is to work with and support the family by providing Bible studies, retreats, fellowships, and mission opportunities to lead young people to live for Jesus and be like Him.
The Mission of the North Harford Youth Department!
"That we would be leaders for Christ by witnessing to both Christians and non-Christians, to build them up and teach them the ways of Christ, and that Christ would say to them, '...Well done, good and faithful slave;...' Matthew 25:21"
Youth Department Mission Verse
"And we proclaim Him, admonishing every man and teaching every man with all wisdom, that we may present every man complete in Christ." Colossians 1:28 (all scripture quoted from the NASB)
Youth Ministries & Activities
Each Friday night from 7 PM 'till 10 PM the youth group meets in the Dallas Sutton building. We focus on building the community of Christ by playing games together, having refreshments, and studying the Bible-book by book, verse by verse. Every youth meeting is open to parents and we encourage parents to come and build relationships not just with their own kids but with the kids in our church and community.
This meeting is led by Pastor Rob and several trained youth counselors, who willingly give their time to minister to the young people who come on Friday nights. The meeting is targeted towards youth in grades 7-12. A regular meeting begins at 7 with a welcome and announcements, 7:30-8:20 we play some fun games, 8:20-8:45 is a time to cool down and have a snack, 8:45-9:45 is our worship and Bible study time 9:45-10 the group ends with a time of prayer and sharing in small groups.
On Wednesday nights at 7:00 PM, our youth meet in the Dallas Sutton building for a missions class. They learn how to engage the culture of today by examining different world views and what the Word of God says to the Christian. There are also several outreach projects for the students to participate in each year. Most importantly, students learn how to give away the gospel of Jesus Christ while defending their faith in a culture of shifting sand.
This is a vital class where youth not only learn about missions, but have an opportunity also to participate in mission projects. This class is for youth 7-12 grades and is taught by Pastor Rob.
Every summer, the youth go on a mission trip, helping another church with canvassing, Backyard Bible Clubs, Vacation Bible School, and other projects. In addition, there are community service opportunities for youth throughout the year.
Twice a year, the youth go for a weekend spiritual retreat in the spring and fall, where they can dig deeper into God's word and enjoy fellowship with each other in a fun, relaxing environment.
