John Manry - Senior Pastor
Pastor John grew up in Howard County, Maryland, graduating from Glenelg High School in 1976. In 1985, he graduated from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary in Memphis, Tennessee and came to North Harford Baptist Church in January of 1986 as Associate Pastor. He served for three and a half years with Pastor Allen Jack Beck and, after his retirement, was called as Senior Pastor in November of 1989.
He and his wife, Jody, live in a parsonage a half mile from the church where they have raised five children. His passion in ministry is to glorify Christ by preaching the Bible clearly, helping individuals, families, and this community know the Lord and His will for their lives.
Matt Fortunato - Associate Pastor of Discipleship
Pastor Matt grew up in south Jersey, spent some time in Arkansas and Pennsylvania, and came to NHBC in August 0f 2018. He and his wife Becky have 3 daughters and 1 son, and are very glad to be serving in Harford County.
Matt completed his Bachelor's of Theology at Harding University (2007), and his Masters of Divinity (2012) and PhD in Theological Studies (2018) at Westminster Theological Seminary, Philadelphia. His passion is based on 1 Corinthians 15:1-4, where the Apostle Paul explains that the gospel is "of first importance." Many things are important, and some things are very important, but only the gospel of Jesus Christ is of first importance. To be about the gospel is to be about God's glorious grace extended to sinners through the Lord Jesus Christ. He is everything.
